Deep Side is a band based in Florida. The members of the band are: Karlen "Pretti Sly" Moodliyar, 21; Rudy "Rude Boi" Huggins, 21; Brent "Penny" Pendergast, 21; and Mike "Ezay" Espinosa, 22. Through years of talent shows and acappella auditions, they caught the eye of manager-to-be, Jonathan Wright, who first saw them perform at a high school talent show in 1999. They would soon find themselves signed to Jive Records.

The band was formed when the members were still teenagers singing at local talent shows and performing at parties around the city. They were discovered by a manager Jonathan Wright when Rude Boi, Mike Ezay, and Penny performed one night on stage at a high school variety show. Wright offered them a development deal on the spot. They introduced the fourth member of Deep Side, Pretti Sly (who attended a different school) the following day.
"Deep Side" is a name given after the community where a few of them had grown-up. Deep Side spent two years in the lab honing their various performance skills including songwriting and choreography. In the early days of Deep Side, it was rough between cranking out music and dance rehearsal, through negative energy and hard times they stuck together. Their manager sold his house so they can pursue their career. After that, money was gone! Wright's friend, Dale Davis, the NBA All-Star, stepped in to help keep things move forward. They would sign to Spy Records where Tony Bongiovi helps them produced their self-titled debut album.
They later signed with Jive Records and released their debut single, Let's Make Love. Their untitled debut album brims with grinding grooves, such as the insistently sexual Let's Make Love featuring R. Kelly, the titillating Wet and the tasty Yum Yum plainly state the album's explicit tone. Their next album will be released in 2007.
