Degodia

The Degodia are one of the many clans of Somalis. They are found in the border areas of kenya and ethiopia ,in the Liban Zone of Ethiopia Somali region and parts of central Somalia. They keep the best camel breed, oorta type and cattle in southeastern rangelands of Ethiopia and northern kenya. they speak a unique somali accent which is sometimes referred to as the original somali dilect. In the past, they were headed by A WABAR (king) but he has lost his political clout since the degodia have been divided into 3 countries of Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia. They form a close net of fammilies mostly they reside along the Somalia/Ethiopia border in the rangelands around the dawa and hubiweine River. The degodia depend on pastoralism and are known for breeding an excellent Borana species of cattle.
