Los Angeles-based Delicious Vinyl was founded by disc jockeys Matt Dike and Michael Ross in 1987. Throughout its history, the label has had distribution deals with PolyGram, Warner Music Group, EMI, and now Universal Music Group. The label cut its niche with the success of artists like hip-hop acts Tone Loc, Young MC, Masta Ace, and The Pharcyde, as well as the celebrated acid jazz band The Brand New Heavies. Founder Matt Dike departed the label in 1992. Most recently the label released a high-profile reunion album Get Used To It from Brand New Heavies. Delicious Vinyl will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2007.[1]
