Democratic Opposition of Serbia

The Democratic Opposition of Serbia (Демократска oпозиција Cрбије, ДОС; Demokratska opozicija Srbije, DOS) was a wide alliance of political parties in Serbia, formed as a coalition against the ruling Socialist Party of Serbia and its leader, Slobodan Milošević in 2000. Its candidate, Vojislav Koštunica, won the September 2000 federal presidential elections and the coalition won the provincial parliamentary majority in December 2000. The coalition then formed the government which ruled Serbia until December 2003. Then DOS fractions joined forces with Socialist Party of Serbia to form a new government with Vojislav Koštunica as its new head.
DOS was originally an 18-party coalition, including:

- Alliance of Hungarians from Vojvodina (SVM) (Jožef Kasa (Hungarian: Kasza József))
- Reformist Democratic Party of Vojvodina (RDSV) (Miodrag Isakov)
- Vojvodina Coalition (KV) (Dragan Veselinov)
- Socialdemocracy (SD) (Vuk Obradović)
- Movement for Democratic Serbia (PDS) (Momčilo Perišić)
- Sandžak Democratic Party (SDP) (Rasim Ljajić)

The interparty relations in the coalition started to deteriorate in 2001 when Koštunica's party, the Democratic Party of Serbia, pulled out of the coalition. The remainder has split into the Democratic Party and the G17 Plus group.
