Derek Peter Geary (born. June 19, 1980 in Dublin, Republic of Ireland) is an Irish footballer, who plays as a full-back for English Premiership team Sheffield United.
Geary is also one of the few players to have played for both sides in Sheffield. He was signed by Sheffield Wednesday from Cherry Orchard on November 11, 1997, he made a total of 121 appearances for the owls and won the player of the season award for the 2001-2002 season [1]. On July 26, 2004 he joined Stockport County and made 14 appearances.
A diminutive full-back, Derek is also a battler. He cost United £25,000 from Stockport County when he signed on October 22, 2005. His versatility is a major boost for the Blades.
Geary has scored 1 goal, and that came in 2004/05 for Sheffield United.
