The Disney Channel Games is an olympic-based miniseries that has aired in the summer months since 2006. The Disney Channel Games have recently finished their second year, and is produced by 7ate9 Entertainment, located in Hollywood, California.

The miniseries takes Disney Channel stars and divides them into four teams. Each week, selected members of each team compete against each other in obstacles and games. Depending on how well each team does, a certain number of points will be added to each team's score. 1st 200, 2nd 150, 3rd 100,4th 75. While this is the primary way teams get points, fans can also play selected games on Disney Channel's official website and submit the points they earn to their favorite team. The team with the most points submitted in is given bonus points. Also, one week after each event, the Most Valuable Player MVP (who is voted upon by viewers online) is announced. After eight weeks of competition, the winning team is announced.

The Disney Channel Games airs on Saturday nights from 8pm-10pm on Disney Channel during the summer seasons. The competitions are shown in between new episodes of four Disney Channel shows.

The Disney Channel Games 2006 were the first annual competitions. They began airing in the US on June 10, 2006, along with the So Hot Summer! 2006. It was later aired in the UK November 3, 2006, Australia on January 5, 2007, and in Latin America on February 26, 2007. It was recently aired in Canada on the Family Channel on June 19, 2007.

There were three teams: the Red Team, the Blue Team and the Green Team. The stars on the teams were from various Disney Channel Original Series and the Disney Channel Original Movies that would air that summer. Each member of the team was given a nickname and Brenda Song, Ashley Tisdale and Zac Efron acted as team captains. The events were hosted by Brian Stepanek and Phill Lewis (respectively, Arwin and Mr. Moseby from The Suite Life of Zack and Cody). Characters and their voices from the animated series acted as studio hosts. These included Christy Carlson Romano(Kim Possible), John DiMaggio(Dr. Drakken and Fu Dog), Dante Basco(Jake Long), J.P. Manoux(Kuzco) and Patrick Warburton(Kronk).

Blue Team
(winner in US, Australia and Latin America)

The MVPs of the blue team were Vanessa Hudgens (The Heart Breaker), Brenda Song (The Captain) and Cole Sprouse (The Conqueror). Cole Sprouse (The Conqueror) and Corbin Bleu (The Cooler) returned to the blue team the following year.

Green Team
(winner in the UK, runner up in Australia and the US)

The MVPs of the green team were Kyle Massey (The Funk) and Miley Cyrus (The Triple Threat) (twice). Lucas Grabeel (The Jazz) and Miley Cyrus (The Triple Threat) returned to the green team the following year.

Red Team
(winner in Germany, Italy and runner up in UK)

The MVPs of the red team were Zac Efron (The Captain) and Kay Panabaker (The Closer). Moises Arias (The Secret Weapon) returned to the red team the following year.

The Second Annual Disney Channel Games are over as of 25th August 2007. As advertised, these have proven to be the biggest of them all. Hosted at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, stars from other nations' Disney Channels have joined the teams, making room for the new Yellow Team. In addition, each team is playing for a charity (including Boys & Girls Club, UNICEF, Make-a-Wish Foundation and Starlight Starbright Childrens Foundation.

Contestants from the first edition who did not return for the second include Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Kay Panabaker, and Anneliese van der Pol. Several new additions from new Disney Channel Original Series, Disney Channel Original Movies, and across the globe have joined the teams, including Maiara Walsh and Jason Dolley of Cory in the House. Each team member did not receive a nickname, although Brenda Song remained a captain, Dylan Sprouse, Kyle Massey, and Corbin Bleu took over for the other teams. Phill Lewis and Brian Stepanek returned as hosts while Cory in the House's Madison Pettis served as a guest judge on one occasion. Several animated characters are also seen in the audience of the games. They include Nancy Cartwright and Grey DeLisle (Todd and Riley), Dante Basco (Jake Long), John DiMaggio (Fu Dog and Dr. Drakken), Christy Carlson Romano (Kim Possible) and cheerleaders, and J.P. Manoux (Kuzco), among several others.


The opening ceremonies for the 2007 Games premiered on June 15, 2007 with concert performances by Corbin Bleu and Hannah Montana.

The closing ceremonies aired on August 25, 2007 with concert performances by The Cheetah Girls, The Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus, performing as herself and not as Hannah Montana for the first time.

A new DVD with all the concert performances will be released sometime in November.

These are the teams for the 2007 Disney Channel Games. Next to each name is the final score of each team. The 2007 Disney Channel Games also featured competitors from Disney Channel's around the world. Those not from the US Disney Channel have their originating country next to their name.

Green Team - The Winning Team With 1400 Points

The green MVPs were Dylan Sprouse (Captain) (twice), Monique Coleman, Lucas Grabeel and Pax Baldwin.

Yellow Team - The Runner Up With 1225 Points

There were no yellow MVPs. However, the yellow team is the newest team for Disney Channel Games.

Red Team - 3rd Place Wth 1125 Points (won in the UK and Latin America)

The red MVPs were Ashley Tisdale and Jason Earles (twice).

Blue Team - 4th And Last Place With 850 Points

There were no blue MVPs either.

Disney Channel allowed viewers to vote for which events they would like to see online.

The Green Team won the competition and chose to donate the $25,000 to the The Boys and Girls Club Of America. But, in a final twist, Disney gave each team $25,000 too. So at the end of the day all Teams finished the 2007 games with money for their charity. The winning team in the UK and Latin America was The Red Team, with the footage cleverly changed so it looked like they won the Games.

These Disney Channel Games started to transmit 4th of November in LatinAmerica.
