Division of Dawson

The Division of Dawson is an Australian Electoral Division in Queensland. The division was created in 1949 and is named for Anderson Dawson, the first Labor Premier of Queensland. It is located on the central Queensland coast, taking in the towns of Ayr, Bowen, Mackay and Proserpine. Apart from a period between 1966 and 1975, it has always been held by Country Party and its successor the National Party
