List of Cyrillic letters

Dje, or Djerv (Ђ, ђ) is the sixth letter of the Serbian Cyrillic alphabet, used in the Serbian language to represent the sound /ʥ/, a voiced alveolo-palatal affricate, similar to the English "j" sound. It was adapted by Vuk Stefanović Karadžić from ћ. It corresponds with Macedonian Gje (Ѓ).

The name Dje is actually a provisional designation, as Serbian letters are not named. When spelling is required, it is pronounced as /ʥə/.

Dje is romanized as Đ/đ or, frequently (though considered incorrect by some), dj.
