Dominguez High School is a four-year secondary school located in Compton, California. As of 2005, the school principal is Cuauhtemoc Avila. It is part of the Compton Unified School District.

The school has been classified as a Program Improvement school since 1997 and faces corrective action by the state of California. In a recently published School Accountability Report Card, the school failed to meet Academic Performance Index (API) growth targets several years in a row; on an API scale of 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest, Dominguez High School achieved the lowest score possible compared both to other high schools and other similar schools. In 2002, a documentary was filmed about the Compton school's attempt to put on a theatrical drama in the midst of urban poverty titled OT: Our Town which was met with critical acclaim by Newsweek, The New York Times, and LA Weekly. The film was nominated for best documentary feature by the Independent Spirit Awards in 2003. [2]

Dominguez High is best known for its basketball team, named the best team in the nation by USA Today in 2000. Dominguez is also well known for its marching band. The Dominguez High School Marching Band travels around Southern California to attend parades and to support their varsity football team.
