Doofus Drake is a character created by The Walt Disney Company exclusively for the animated television show DuckTales. Doofus is a friend of Huey, Dewey and Louie and a fan of Launchpad McQuack. Doofus is either seen with the nephews or Launchpad on DuckTales. He only appeared in the first season, except for a cameo appearance in Super DuckTales, the five part episode that introduced Gizmo Duck. He also appeared sometimes in the DuckTales comic books, as well as The Junior Woodchucks comic book mini-series.
Generally speaking, Doofus was a rather dim-witted and clumsy character, with an insatiable appetite. He also had a hero worship for Launchpad, which frequently bordered on the delusional. In fact, the relationship between Doofus and Launchpad in many ways mirrored that of Launchpad and Scrooge McDuck
One particular episode, "Superdoo!", Doofus found a chunk of a meteorite whilst attempting to earn his geology merit badge on a Junior Woodchuck field trip with Huey, Duey and Louey with Launchpad, which he wore like a charm. The meteorite gave him superhuman strength, super speed and the ability to fly. In this stint, Doofus used his new-found abilities to earn a multitude of Junior Woodchuck merit badges whilst saving his fellow junior woodchucks Superdoo. However, he gave up the meteorite by the end of the episode, realising that his badges were unfairly gained and that his powers isolated him from his friends.
Doofus was voiced by Brian Cummings.
