Eamon Burns (Irish: Éamon Mac Conboirne) played for the Derry GAA Gaelic Athletic Association team, winning an All-Ireland Championship medal in 1993. He had massive promise at under-age level, and by the time he was 21 he had won almost everything in the game, including McCrory, Hogan, Sigerson and All-Ireland minor and senior medals. After 1993, Burns' young promise never materialised into the star that he could have been on the senior inter-county stage.

Burns now teaches Physical Education at St. Columb's College, Derry, and is manager of the school Gaelic football teams. His management culminated in the winning in 2002 of the MacLarnon Cup. This was Burns' first major trophy as a manager.

He is also currently a soccer player at Draperstown Celtic, the team he would have grown up supporting[1].
