Ecatepec de Morelos

Ecatepec de Morelos is a municipio in the State of México, its seat is San Cristóbal Ecatepec de Morelos. It is part of Mexico City's metropolitan area, lying adjacent to the northeast corner of the Federal District (Distrito Federal). The name Ecatepec is derived from Nahuatl and means "windy hill" and Morelos is the last name of one the heroes of the Mexican War of Independence José María Morelos. The president of the municipio of Ecatepec is Eruviel Ávila (2003-2006).
Ecatepec de Morelos had a 2005 census population of 1,688,258 inhabitants, which makes it the most populous municipality in the nation [1], as well as in the state.
