From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Eddie Offord is a noted record producer and engineer, who worked in his ADVISION Studio in London on some of the most famous albums in the 1970s. He is especially well known for his work with the progressive rock groups Emerson, Lake and Palmer and Yes. ELP wrote a tribute to Eddie Offord with the song "Are You Ready, Eddie?", issued 1971 on their Tarkus album. Chris Squire of Yes described Offord's influence on their album Fragile with the following words: "Eddie Offord's maturity as a producer and engineer gives Fragile the sonic depth and sophistication it deserves and this made the album in fact 'fragile'".
In 1999 Eddie Offord retired from the music business. In an interview for NME Offord said, that music isn't a big part of his life anymore, but that he had a wonderful time working with people like David Sancious, ELP, and Yes. He currently lives in Southern California with his wife and his two children and spends most of his time either sailing or playing with his boat.
