The Egyptian Premier League (Arabic: الدوري المصري الممتاز) (League A) 2006/2007 has sixteen clubs. The two most popular Egyptian clubs are Ahly and Zamalek of Cairo. Other strong Premier League sides are (Ismailia), Masry (Port Sa'id), Itihad (Alexandria) and al-Mokawloon al-Arab (Cairo). Enppi & Haras El-Hadoud are clubs on the rise. The Egyptian league is considered to be one of the most competitive leagues around the world. The league is currently ranked 17th-most competitive league in the world by the IFFHS [2]. There is no official English translation or title for the Egyptian Premier League, in any case the league is named the Etisalat Egyptian Premier League after the new communications company has signed a sponsorship deal with the Egyptian FA.

Other problems such as facilities have weakened the league. Many facilities are old and are facing problems on the pitch. And all current facilities such as Cairo Stadium are not used to full capacity.
In addition, league administration have lacked in organizing proper standards in comparison to top leagues in the world. Problems such as scheduling league fixtures, organizaion of proper online databases, and other minor details have lowered standards in the league.
If the Egyptian League could control its media rights & fix problems with facilities such as security, seating, accessibility, pitch and all the matters relating, the Egyptian League could be very profitable.
Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexendria is opening soon and it will be the home of majority of the Alexandria clubs. The stadium has a capacity of 80,000. In 2007, Damanhour Stadium in the city of Damanhour will go into construction. Its capacity will be 60,000. In 2009, Mubarak International Stadium will go into construction in Six October City & its capacity will be 65,000. In 2009 the Cairo Military Academy Stadium will be rebuilt and its capacity will be 65,000. As well Ismailia has future plans for expansion or a new venue with a capacity of a minimum of 45,000.
