Electoral district of Algester

The division of Algester is an electoral division in the Queensland Legislative Assembly in the state of Queensland, Australia. This electoral district was created prior to the 2001 Queensland State Election.
It is located in south-western Greater Brisbane and includes the suburbs of Acacia Ridge, Algester, Parkinson, Calamvale, Forest Lake and Sunnybank Hills, with parts of Coopers Plains and Inala. It is a mixture of established suburbs such as Acacia Ridge with newer areas like Forest Lake and Calamvale.
Since 2001 Algester has been represented by the Australian Labor Party's Karen Struthers, who is Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Employment and Training, Industrial Relations, and Sport. Karen Struthers was first elected to the Queensland Legislative Assembly for the electoral district of Archerfield in the 1998 state election.
