Electoral district of Bulimba

The district of Bulimba is an electoral division in the state of Queensland, Australia.

The electorate covers the inner eastern suburbs of Brisbane. It is bounded on the north and the west by the Brisbane River and covers the suburbs of Bulimba, Balmoral, Cannon Hill, Hawthorne, Morningside, Norman Park, Murrarie and Seven Hills.

The electorate is represented by Pat Purcell, the Minister for Emergency Services in the Australian Labor Party government of Peter Beattie. At the 2004 election Purcell suffered a swing of 4.5% but still managed to defeat Liberal Party candidate Glenn Snowdon by a margin of 18.5%. Purcell retained the seat in the 2006 state election despite another swing against the Labor party in favour of Liberal Party candidate Angela Julian-Armitage.
