From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kenwick is an Electoral district of Western Australia. As in other districts, the Kenwick district elects a single person to the Western Australian Legislative Assembly. The elected person is then known as the Member for Kenwick, and is said to hold the seat of Kenwick. As of 1996, the Member for Kenwick is Sheila McHale who holds the seat for the Labor Party by a margin of 13.6%.
Suburban electorate extending along the Albany Highway in Perth's south-east corridor. It includes the suburbs of East Cannington, Beckenham, Kenwick, Maddington and parts of Langford, Thornlie and Gosnells. Covers 44 km².
Kenwick previously existed as an electorate between 1989 and 1996, when it was represented by Dr Judyth Watson, who served as a Minister in the Lawrence government.
