Elin Jones

Elin Jones is a Welsh politician and member of Plaid Cymru. She is a member of the National Assembly for Wales for the Ceredigion Assembly constituency, which covers an area similar to that of the county of Ceredigion, since 1999. Elin Jones is the incumbent for Ceredigion in the National Assembly for Wales election, 2007.
Jones was educated at the University of Wales in Cardiff and Aberystwyth. She was elected Mayor of Aberystwyth in 1997 and was formerly a Development officer for the Development Board for Rural Wales and a Regional Development Manager for the Welsh Development Agency.
Jones is Plaid Cymru's Shadow Environment, Planning and Countryside Minister in the National Assembly. She is a member of the National Assembly Environment, Planning and Countryside Committee, Business Partnership Committee and Broadcasting Board. Her political interests include planning, agriculture and rural affairs. Elin Jones speaks both Welsh and English. Her outside interests include music and the history and geography of Ceredigion.
