Elmarie Wendel (born on November 23, 1939) is an American actress, perhaps best known for her role as Mamie Dubcek on the NBC sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun.

Born on a farm in Iowa, Wendel spent her childhood traveling with her musical parents and dancing with her sisters in and around the mid-west in club and concert hall venues, including the Grand Ole Opry. She eventually made her way to New York where she enjoyed success both on and off Broadway. A national touring company of "Annie" took her to Los Angeles where she made a successful transition into film and television.

Her television credits include guest roles on many hit shows such as Murphy Brown, Seinfeld, Love & War, Murder, She Wrote, and Empty Nest. She also appeared in the acclaimed original cable films And the Band Played On for HBO and in Far from Home for Showtime.

Among her vast theater credits, Wendel has performed on Broadway in "Wonderful Town," "Copper & Brass," "Cole Porter Revisited" and "Little Mary Sunshine." Additionally, she performed in "Gigi" in Los Angeles at the Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities. She has also starred in the feature films "Going Under," "The Immortalizers," "Transplant," and most recently, "Rumplestilskin."

Elmarie Wendel is the mother of J.C. Wendel, an actress best known for her role on the mid-1990s CBS sitcom Dave's World.
