"Emotion" is a 1978 single recorded by Australian pop singer Samantha Sang for the Private Stock label. Written by The Bee Gees members Barry & Robin Gibb (who, along with fellow Bee Gee brother Maurice sang background vocals), and produced by Barry, the song was Sang's only hit single, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. It was featured in the film The Stud (1978) starring Joan Collins 1.

Also in 1978, Emotion was used as the B-side of Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams' single "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late", which reached number one in the U.S.

The Bee Gees recorded their own version of the song and it was released on their 2001 greatest hits collection titled The Record.

"Emotions" was remade by R&B group Destiny's Child in 2001, it was produced and arranged by Mark J. Feist. It is a slower-tempo version than the Samantha Sang original, although a more uptempo Neptunes-produced remix of the song was also produced.

Destiny Child's remake appeared on their third studio album Survivor and was issued as a single. The Destiny's Child version of "Emotions", accompanied by a music video featuring a triple split screen effect, continued the group's streak of top-ten hits in the United States, peaking at number ten on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also a hit in the United Kingdom, where it peaked at number three and sold over 108,000 copies. It won the Soul Train Lady of Soul Award for "Best R&B/Soul Single, Group, Band or Duo" ("Emotion").

"Emotions" debuted at number sixty-five on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 29, 2001 and reached its number-ten peak position during its tenth week. With the exception of "No, No, No Part One", this was Destiny's Child first ballad single and was quite well received reaching the top ten in several countries including New Zealand, Ireland, the Philippines and the Netherlands.

The single was parodied on MADtv as "Beyonce", the parody was made this way to reflect on Beyonce being the most successful member of Destiny's Child to date.

Unlike their two pervious singles, "Survivor" and "Bootylicious", "Emotion" was the only single that did not receive a physical commerial CD single release in the US. Many fans felt the single could have charted higher with the help of single sales.

The song was heavily on radio station playlists during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, and eventually became a tribute song to the family of the victims.
