Empire State College, one of the thirteen arts and science colleges of the State University of New York, is a multi-site institution that offers higher education to students all over the State of New York as well as the rest of the world. The college offers very flexible programs, including distance education for traditional and non-traditional students. Empire State is primarily oriented towards the adult learner. Many of the undergraduate degrees offered by Empire State College are "individualized" as opposed to the more traditional degree programs. Empire State College allows for extensive transfers of credits from other universities, knowledge gained through independent studies, standardized evaluations, and other approaches such as designing your own degree with an academic advisor or mentor and even giving your degree your chosen title, subject to approval. Uniquely, international students pay the same tuition fees when studying online as in-state students.
Empire State College's graduate degrees combine online courses with some face-to-face activities such as weekend residencies (http://www.esc.edu/grad).
Empire State College administrative offices are located in Saratoga Springs, New York.
Degrees offered by the College range from Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees. The College is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The Center for Distance Learning is available for students throughout the world, who can earn an undergraduate degree completely online.
Empire State College's Center for International Programs also has special programs for students in Lebanon, Czech Republic, and Greece. It also has arranged learning opportunities with United Auto Workers-Ford, United Steelworkers of America, Corporate Noncredit Training, eArmyU,Navy College Program and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers(Local Union #3).
