From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wine Enthusiast magazine is a magazine covering wine, food, spirits, travel and entertaining topics. It was founded in 1988 by Adam and Sybil Strum and reaches 686,000 (2006 Mendelsohn Affluent Survey) readers. Its wine ratings, conducted by experts in major wine-producing areas of the world, are considered an influential gauge for consumers and professionals in the wine industry and comprise a large section of the magazine. The Web site, Wine Enthusiast Magazine, includes additional and original wine lifestyle-related content, as well as a database of 500 spirits reviews.

In addition to the publication and Web site, Wine Enthusiast magazine has developed events for both consumers and the trade, such as the Toast of the Town walk-around food and wine event (New York, Chicago, San Francisco) and The Annual Wine Star Awards dinner, during which awards are given to recipients in ten major industry categories.

Wine Enthusiast magazine is part of the Wine Enthusiast Companies, which also includes a wine accessories catalog Wine Enthusiast and online wine shop Wine Express
