Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

First appearing in Episode 1 of Day 5, Evelyn is First Lady Martha Logan's personal assistant. During the hostage situation at the Ontario Airport near the beginning of Day 5, Martha was determined to find evidence that proved David Palmer called her the night before to warn her about the attack. Martha snuck out of the room and told Evelyn to cover for her. Evelyn managed to hold off Head Agent Aaron Pierce for awhile, but eventually she told him what Martha was doing.

A little while later, Walt Cummings asked Evelyn where Martha hid the transcript she had taken from the archive room. He threatened prosecution if she didn't tell him. Not knowing that Cummings was a traitor, she told him that it was in Martha's blouse. She later found Martha unconscious when she came back into the room. Martha said someone attacked her, but no one else believed her.

Around 10:00 p.m., Evelyn gets ready to leave the retreat for the night, but is confronted by Wayne Palmer and Aaron. She admits that she has evidence that implies the orchestrator behind the Sentox Nerve Gas Conspiracy. She then reveals that Christopher Henderson kidnapped her little daughter Amy, and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the evidence. She told Wayne later that she e-mailed David Palmer about this information because she knew she could trust him.

With the help of Jack Bauer, the three organize a meeting with Henderson to make an exchange-Amy for the evidence. Henderson lets Amy go, telling Evelyn to hand him the evidence. Evelyn, however, knowing that Jack is covering her, ducks, and Jack and Wayne start firing. Evelyn is injured in the firefight, and Henderson escapes. Evelyn tells Jack and Wayne that President Charles Logan was the one behind the conspiracy.

Sometime after 11:00 p.m., Jack takes Evelyn to a motel and on the way there, she tells him she recorded a conversation between Logan and Henderson, and she left the recording in a safety deposit box at a nearby bank. Jack and Wayne take off, leaving Evelyn and Amy alone in the motel. After sitting for awhile, Amy goes to the bathroom to wash off her bloody hands when she goes into shock and starts crying. Evelyn tries to reach her, but she passes out. Amy then calls 911. Henderson gets a call from one of his men monitoring the police lines, who says a call's coming in for an "Evelyn Martin."

When Henderson gets to the motel, he kills the two medics that answered the call, and he demands that Evelyn tell him where Jack is. Since then, Evelyn and Amy have not been seen and their current status is unknown. The common belief is that, like many characters on 24 this season, both were eliminated, since Henderson didn't leave anyone involved in the conspiracy alive, aside from the president.
