Even Stevens is a comedy television program which originally aired on Disney Channel. It premiered in 2000, and the series finale aired in 2003.

Set in Sacramento, California, the show focuses on the Stevens family, in particular the harebrained schemes of middle-schooler Louis and how he annoys his perfectionist older sister, Ren. Although a sitcom, the show did not use a laugh track. However, one of the main trademark camera shots used on the show were fast-motion transitions between scenes. The title is a pun on the phrase 'even steven', which is often employed to describe a situation, such as a sporting event, in which the scores are even.
Production on the show ceased after 65 episodes due to Disney's 65 episode policy, even though the show was still quite popular. The show concluded with the Disney Channel Original Movie The Even Stevens Movie, which aired on June 13, 2003.
As of September 2006, Even Stevens along with Lizzie McGuire now air on WGN Superstation.
- Louis Anthony Stevens (Shia LaBeouf)- Louis is the youngest of the family. Unlike his perfect siblings and equally perfect parents, he can't seem to find his place. So he is often involved in practical jokes, get-rich-quick schemes and finding ways to infuriate his sister. Louis began the series as somewhat of a social outcast but in the middle of season one he became more popular and garnered more notice from the in-crowd.
- Ren Stevens (Christy Carlson Romano)- Louis' perfectionistic and intelligent older sister. She is the classic over-achiever and is constantly running as Hall Monitor and Class President, while trying keep Louis' schemes from becoming disasters. She is the head newscaster for her school's news show, The Wombat Report. Ren is also the highly valued assistant to Principal Wexler.
- Eileen Stevens (Donna Pescow)- The California state senator mother.
- Steve Stevens (Tom Virtue)- The quirky lawyer father.
- Donald "Donnie" Stevens (Nick Spano)- Ren and Louis' athletic older brother. Donnie is highly concerned with his appearance and airheaded, although he excels in many sports.
- Alan Twitty (A.J. Trauth)- Louis' best friend who is similar to Louis but usually isn't as extreme and often has to get Louis out of situations. Usually referred to as "Twitty" by his friends.
- Tawny Dean (Margo Harshman)- Louis' friend, and eventually his girlfriend. Tawny at first has no friends and is an outsider, until she meets Louis, whom she first dislikes but then befriends. Tawny usually dresses in gothic clothing, unlike her classmates.
- Thomas "Tom" Gribalski (Fred Meyers) - Louis' geeky, unpopular, uncool, and intelligent friend. When Louis cooks up a scheme, Tom usually tries to talk Louis out of it and usually doesn't play along. Also, Tom speaks with a scientific philosophy intelligent slang. He is commonly the victim of many pranks by Louis and Twitty. One time he tried to teach Louis self-defense after saving him from a bully.
- Conrad Wexler (George Anthony Bell) - The principal of Lawrence Jr High. Ren is his student assistant, while Louis drives him bananas.
- Bernard "Beans" Aranguren (Steven Anthony Lawrence) - the bacon-loving neighbor of the Stevens who comes into their home uninvited, makes himself at home, and refuses to leave. He eventually turns into a sidekick for Louis' and Twitty's schemes. In one episode, Louis thinks he may be an alien.
- Ruby Mendel (Lauren Frost) - Ren's best friend who loves to gossip about news that goes around in school, usually involving crushes and students who are going out.
- Coach Terry Tugnut (Jim Wise) - The gym coach who is always tough on Louis but crazy about Donny - and food. He is frequently the victim of one of Louis's pranks. he often serves as Wexler's enforcer/sidekick. He is obsessed with dodgeball with the three "major points." (arm, head, stomach)
- Monique Taylor (Kenya Williams) - Ren's cheerleading friend.
- Lawrence "Larry" Anthony Beale (Eric "Ty" Hodges) - Ren's nasty, popular, charismatic, know-it-all rival in school. Larry always seeks to destroy her reputation, but his schemes usually backfire.
- Ivan (Eric Jungmann) - Sidekick and yes-man for Larry Beale, although he occasionally serves as a yes-man for other popular kids, such as Blake Thompson in the episode Louis in the Middle.
- Nelson Minkler (Gary LeRoi Gray) - Ren's friend who seems to be allergic to everything, as evident of his overprotection of himself when outside.
- Bobby Deaver (Brandon Davis) - He was Ren's crush, then Ren's boyfriend for a time.
- Ms. Lovelson (Kelli McCarty) - Ren's teacher.
- The Even Stevens Movie (aka The Stevens Get Even)
- Was originally produced as a show called "Spivey's Kid Brother". A pilot was filmed in late 1997, and shown as the first season finale "A Weak First Week", and was later picked up by Disney Channel as "Even Stevens". In the first episode Disney had to dub out the name "Spivey" to "Stevens". In a possible coincidence, the character Louis Driscoll from the show The Secret World of Alex Mack had a best friend named Louis Spivey in the 1996 episode "Spivey", one year previous to the creation of the Even Stevens pilot.
- Although the show lasted three seasons, the timeline of the show is only one school year, since Louis and his friends remain in the 7th grade and Ren and her friends remain in the 8th grade. They all finally graduate in The Even Stevens Movie
- In Louis's room in the background is the painting of Kramer from Seinfeld, which is titled The Kramer.
- In Episode 7, Foodzilla, Ren and Louis are going to the woman's house Ren asks what could go wrong, Louis thinks about it and you notice he has an apple in his mouth so he cannot scream, but when the camera changes to the woman that Louis made fun of earlier in the show, she's moving the handle and Louis screams without an apple in his mouth.
- In the theme song of the show, Louis and Ren turn their remote controls into lightsabers, alluding to Star Wars. Prior to this, Ren reads a TV Guide with live-action photos of Christy Carlson Romano and Shia LaBeouf on the cover.
- Throughout the show, it has been revealed that Tawny can't snap her fingers, Twitty sleeps with a nightlight, Ren was student of the month for 18 months straight but needs training wheels to ride a bike, and Tom is afraid of flying squirrels.
- Donna Pescow (Eileen Stevens) has directed many episodes of the show.
- Shia LaBeouf went on to win a Daytime Emmy for Best Actor in a Children's Series in 2003 for his role in Even Stevens.
- Richard Kind, Sean Faris, Jason Marsden, Danica McKellar, Jennifer Freeman, Phyllis Diller and Mindy Sterling have all guest starred on the show. Chris Berman has made occasional cameos as an anchor on Sportscenter.
- In "Wild Child", the reporter asks if they sent Louis to a workcamp out in the desert. Then Shia goes on to make the movie Holes.
- In "Surf's Up" Twitty Mentions that Louis had gone to a temper tantrum workshop. That was mentioned because of the tantrum Louis had thrown in "Wild Child".
- In "Band On the Roof" while Principal Wexler made them pick up trash, Shia LaBeouf was wearing a uniform similar to the one he wore in Holes.
