Exeter City Council

Exeter City Council is the council and local government of the city of Exeter, Devon.

The council are currently bidding for the city to become an Independent Unitary Authority within Devon, muchlike neighbouring Plymouth and Torbay. An outline case was submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government in May 2006. If successful, a new unitary city council could be up and running in Exeter by April 2009.
