Fallow slaves

Fallow slaves are a part of the Star Control 2 universe. Fallow slaves are the creation of the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za who conquer all sentinent species they come across so that they may never become a threat to them. Following defeat by the Ur Quan races are given a choice following the path of now and forever, they can either become battle thralls: and be allowed to remain somewhat free ur-quan vassals aiding their masters in conquest of further alien species or choose to become fallow slaves. Oddly enough fallow slaves are less slaves then battle thralls, they are more akin to prisoners. The Ur-Quan first destroy all artifacts of the race's older then 2000 years (for reasons only explained in Star Control 3 then force all members of that species onto its homeworld. The Ur-quan then erect an impenetrable slave shield around the planet forcing the species to exist purely on its own planet 'forever'.
