Family Circle Cup

The Family Circle Cup is a WTA Tour affiliated professional tennis tournament for women, held every year since 1973 on green clay courts in Charleston, South Carolina, USA. It is classified on the WTA Tour as a Tier I tournament. The event was held in Hilton Head for many years before moving to Charleston in 2001 [1].
The tournament is known for its strong player fields.
- Only three champions of the Family Circle Cup never won/have not yet won a Grand Slam singles title during their careers: Rosie Casals (1973), Amanda Coetzer (1998) and Nadia Petrova (2006).
