Federal Correctional Institution, Danbury

Federal Correctional Institution Danbury is a federal prison for women (formerly for men) in the United States. It is located near the city of Danbury in Fairfield County, Connecticut, 70 miles from New York City and 3 miles north of Danbury.

Danbury houses low security female offenders and also has an adjacent satellite camp which houses minimum security female offenders.

Ring Lardner, Jr., writer, 10 months in 1950-1951, for contempt of Congress (one of the Hollywood 10)
Robert Lowell, poet, several months for refusing to serve in World War II
Sun Myung Moon, leader of the Unification Church, 13 months for filing false tax records and conspiracy
