Final Fight 2 is a 1993 beat 'em up for the Super NES and the second game in Capcom's Final Fight series. Unlike the original Final Fight, Final Fight 2 was not an arcade game, but was made specifically for the home market. The game features the return of Mike Haggar from the original game and introduces Maki and Carlos.

Set sometime after the events of the original Final Fight, the Mad Gear gang has been revived under the leadership of a man named Retu in Japan. In retaliation for their early defeat, they had kidnapped Guy's fiancee, Rena and her father (Guy's master), Genryusai.
Two days after the abduction, Haggar receives a phone call from Maki (Rena's sister) informing him of the situation and tells him to meet up with her in Hong Kong. With Cody on vacation with Jessica and Guy away on a training mission, Haggar enlists the help of Carlos Miyamoto, a swordsman and boarder who is staying with Haggar. The two meet with Maki and decide to travel through various parts of Eurasia in search of Mad Gear's new hideout.
The game can be considered as an attempt by Capcom compensate for the earlier SNES version of Final Fight (as well as Final Fight Guy). The gameplay is not very different from the original game in terms of changes. However, the 2 player cooperative game mode that was missing from the first SNES is restored in the sequel and the game offers three playable characters (instead of two). Though neither Guy nor Cody is a playable character in this game, Maki and Carlos are essentially their replacements (this is further emphasized by the fact that Maki uses the same fighting style as Guy). The only returning enemy (besides the Andore family) is Rolento, a boss character from the original arcade game who was missing in the SNES version. The new enemies are also analogues to the ones from the first game, with virtually all of the new Mad Gear members (Elias, Eleck, Mary) having similar fighting styles to their counterparts from the first game (El Gado, G. Oriber, Poison).
Instead of an American city like Metro City, the game takes place primarily in various European and Asian cities and landmarks, thereby giving the game its own distinct look.
The three main protagonists: Cody was replaced by the swordsman Carlos, and Guy was replaced by Maki, his Bushinryuu rival and sister of his girlfriend Rena. Haggar remained as a playable character.
- Advantage: Balanced power and speed.
- Sure-Kill Technique: Kaiten-Zan or Spinning Sword Slash
- Weapon of Preference: The knife, though he even holds a Katana Blade.
- Special Ability: Carlos can stab with knives at melee range, which Maki and Haggar cannot do. From a distance, Carlos will hurl knives.
- Advantage: Unmatched speed.
- Sure-Kill Technique: Bushinryuu Katate Goma or Warrior God Style One-Handed Top Kick
- Weapon of Preference: The Tonfa.
- Special Ability: Off-the-wall jump. Maki can use walls or vertical planes to launch herself towards opponents with a kick that has longer reach and high priority damage.
Maki is the only character from this game to appear in later games as a full character (Carlos only cameos in Alex's Capcom Fighting Evolution ending).
- Further information: Maki Genryusai
- Advantage: Unmatched power.
- Sure-Kill Technique: Double Lariet
- Weapon of Preference: The wooden plank.
- Special Ability: Haggar exploits his wrestling skills to throw enemies with fervent ease.
- Backdrop: Haggar performs a German Suplex that slams his opponent from behind.
- Piledriver: Haggar grabs an opponent, leaps several feet into the air and smashes him down on the ground for massive damage.
- Further information: Mike Haggar
- Bull and Elijah are the most basic enemies. Having a kick attack, they are also very predictable and are very slow. Bull wears grey, and Elijah wears magenta.
- Mark and Mic are short and odd-looking thugs. They are fast, but their only move is a weak punch. Mark wears olive-green, and Mic wears blue.
- Schot and Jack are another pair of basic thugs, who both have a punk-like appearance. Schot wears yellow and purple, and Jack wears green and grey.
- Elick possesses a short, obese build and charging attacks like the Mad Gear thugs Bill Bull and Wong Who from the first game, but, in addition, possesses two tuning fork-like weapons that can conduct electricity.
- Elias and Eliot are tall and skinny fighters who use a blackjack and kicking attacks to fight their opponents. Elias wears purple and taupe, and Eliot wears grey and yellow.
- Atlas and Jony are cheap blockers with a very muscular build. If they are close to the opponent, they use a bear hug attack to drain a large quantity of the player's energy. Atlas wears yellow and blue, and Jony wears red and taupe.
- Mary and Eliza are tall slender women who use twin slapjacks as weapons. Like Roxy and Poison before them, they have a fast, acrobatic fighting style. They also use high flying attacks (although they are more similar to a M. Bison-like stomp instead of a somersault kick). They were replaced with male counterparts, named Leon and Robert, in the US version of the game. Mary wears white and green and has white hair, and Eliza wears yellow and indigo and has blonde hair. Leon wears dark blue and orange and has dark blue hair, and Robert wears yellow and purple and has blonde hair.
- Andore returns from the first Final Fight. He retains all of his attacks from the first game, but his outfit has been changed to red overall. He is joined by Andore Jr. (in blue) and G. Andore (in gray).
- Won Won (王 王) is the Mad Gear boss of the Hong Kong area (Round 1). Won Won is a former sailor who occupies the seaport section in Hong Kong. He's described as a brutal man who's respected by the area's local mafia, 108 Dragon. In Japanese version of Final Fight 2, he battles with a meat cleaver but was removed in the English localization.
- Freddie is the boss of the French area (Round 2). He is a former member of the US Marine Corps who got into trouble for the numerous fights he was a part of. He was dishonorably discharged after he punched out a commanding officer. He became a mercenary hired by Mad Gear to lead their terrorism unit. His moves are similar to Andore's: A running attack where he charges into the player violently, a head crush move, a jumping attack, done after he knocks you down, and a Piledriver, all of which are extremely damaging. He also has a rising knee attack, similar to Guile's. Despite his immense strength, most of his attacks can be easily countered, and he is a fairly simple boss to defeat.
- Bratken is the boss of the Holland area (Round 3). He is a huge, deformed and very strong individual who resembles the popular depiction of Frankenstein's Monster. A mentally unstable man with the mindset of a child, he was bribed by Mad Gear with a roomful of toys to work for them. He is uncontrollable and is kept in a prison when he is not needed. He has a throw move just like Abigail's, a weird jump and a sliding punch, all of which do a lot of damage. This is a very dangerous boss. His big jump is extremely damaging, but is very slow and easy to avoid.
- Phillipe is the boss of the England area (Round 4). He's a clown working for the circus, shipping illegal items for Mad Gear through it. He uses a cane to battle his opponents. He is able to grab his enemy and strike repeatedly with it, which is very damaging. He also has a sliding attack that knocks his opponent down instantly.
- Rolento is the boss of the Italy area (Round 5). He serves as the military trainer and second-in-command of the gang. He is included in the game presumably due to his omission in the first SNES game (as well as in Final Fight Guy) and fights identical like he does in the original arcade game.
- Retu (烈 Retsu?, Not to be confused with the Street Fighter character Retsu) is the leader of the revived Mad Gear gang and the final boss. He appears in full kabuki costume with a massive build and long pink hair. He fights in his hideout in Japan. Retu's fighting style is similar to Won Won's. He also has a signature move which seems to be a variation of the spinning kick move Tatsumakisenpukyaku used by Ryu in the Street Fighter series.
