Flag of Saskatchewan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The current flag of Saskatchewan, Canada, which has the proportions 2:1, was adopted on 22nd September, 1969. The flag features the Armorial Bearing (Coat of arms) in the upper quarter nearest the staff, with the floral emblem, the Prairie Lily, in the fly. The upper green half of the flag represents the northern Saskatchewan forest lands, while the gold lower half symbolises the southern, prairie wheat-fields. The design was a prize-winning entry of a Province-wide competition that drew over 4000 entries, by Anthony Drake.
Prior to the adoption of the current flag, the province could have unofficially used a Blue Ensign defaced with the provincial coat of arms, but there is no evidence that such a flag was ever sewn.
shares some sort of similarity to the Ukrainian flag, as well as to the flag of Regina.
