Flemingsberg a southern suburb of Stockholm, Sweden, located in Huddinge Municipality. It is located approximately 15 minutes by commuter train from central Stockholm, or 30-45 minutes by car. Flemingsberg has 12,000 inhabitants, around 12,300 people work there, and there are about 13,000 students. There is a railway station (Flemingsberg), a major hospital, a university college and there are also colourful highrise residential buildings from the 1970s.

  • Karolinska Institute is the largest medical university in the world. It is also one of Sweden's largest centres for training and research, accounting for 30 per cent of the medical training and 40 per cent of the medical academic research that is conducted nationwide. The former Huddinge University Hospital is now a part of Karolinska University Hospital at Huddinge in Flemingsberg and is associated with the university.
  • University College of South Stockholm, or Södertörns Högskola, is one of the most recently founded university colleges in Sweden. It was inaugurated in 1996 with some 1,000 students. In December 2003, it had 10,000 registered students. Its profile is multidisciplinary and multicultural.
  • One campus of the Royal Institute of Technology, or Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan, is located in southern Stockholm.
  • Novum Research Park — Genomics and proteomics research and biological sciences park.
