Frank is the debut album by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, released by Island Records in October 2003 in the UK, and in the United States on 20 November 2007. It was nominated for two BRIT Awards and was short-listed for the Mercury Music Prize.[1] The album spawned the singles "Stronger Than Me", "Take the Box", "In My Bed"/"You Sent Me Flying", and "Pumps"/"Help Yourself". The title is a reference to jazz singer Frank Sinatra.

Frank was released in the United States on 20 November 2007. This is due to the success Back to Black achieved and the demand for the album from Winehouse's American fans.

Frank received overwhelmingly positive reviews both in the UK on original release and in the US, earning it 84/100 on Metacritic.[2] Billboard called the album "stellar" and Winehouse's vocals "wobblier than now, yet still astounding."[3]

The album entered the UK Albums Chart at No.60 before climbing to number thirteen in January 2004. It has since been certified platinum for shipment of more than 300,000 copies. During the chart run of Winehouse's second album, 2006's Back to Black, Frank re-entered the UK Albums Chart at No.22 in February 2007, as well as at No.40 on two separate occasions in May 2007, becoming a mainstay of the UK album chart throughout 2007. It has sold well over 300,000 copies in 2007 alone, and as of November 2007 has sold a total of 495,891 copies in the UK.

After its US release, the album sold approximately 22,000 copies in its first week of release there, coming in at #61.
