In his youth, George Brandt Bridgman studied the arts under painter and sculptor Jean-Léon Gérôme at the Ecole des Beaux Arts Paris, and later with Gustave Boulanger.

Bridgman lived in New York where he taught anatomy and figure drawing at New York City's Art Students League. There he taught the legendary American cartoonist Will Eisner.

George Brandt Bridgman is notable for using a cube as a base for figures' heads, as opposed to a sphere like most other artists. [1]
