Gerd Wessig (born 16 July 1959) was an East German athlete who competed mainly in the high jump.
6 ft 7 inches tall and a cook by profession, Wessig won the high jump gold 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow, Soviet Union with a world record of 2.36m.
