"Get Ur Freak On" is a hip hop song written by American rapper/singer Missy Elliott and her producer Tim "Timbaland" Mosley for Elliott's third studio album Miss E... So Addictive (2001). Released as the album's first single in 2001, the track reached #7 in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, becoming Missy Elliott's fifth most successful single to date. A remix of the song featuring Nelly Furtado was a dance club hit during this period.
Cameos in the video include Nate Dogg, Nicole Wray, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes, Spliff Star, Eve, Timbaland, Ja Rule, and LL Cool J. In order to promote the single "Lick Shots" (released after the "Get Ur Freak On" remix) Elliott performed a sample of it at the end of the video.
"Get Ur Freak On" is currently the third most acclaimed song by critics of the decade (2000s). It was ranked #1 for 2001.[1]
