Giampaolo Mazza

Giampaolo Mazza (* February 26, 1956 in Genoa, Italy) is the current manager (coach) of the smallest UEFA member San Marino national football team.

Mazza was in charge of San Marino national football team since 1998. In the World Cup qualifiers 2006 San Marino finished bottom. The Euro 2008 qualifying round saw the minnows pitted against Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Wales, Rep of Ireland and Cyprus. Mazza couldn't prevent San Marino suffering big defeats. 13-0 v Germany, 7-0 v Czech Republic and 5-0 Rep of Ireland. February 7 2007 Mazza was 3 seconds from San Marino's greatest ever result in a tournament but Rep of Ireland scored for 2-1 in the 94th minute of the game.

As a football player Giampaolo Mazza was active for Italian League Serie C club San Marino Calcio till 1987.
