Glenelg Cricket Club

Glenelg Cricket Club (the "Seahorses") are a Grade Cricket team located in Adelaide, South Australia.

Glenelg competes in the South Australian Grade Cricket League, administered by the South Australian Cricket Association. 'A' Grade players in this competition vie for selection in South Australia’s Pura Cup State team, which leads to possible selection in the Australian Cricket team.

The club currently fields 4 senior and 6 junior teams and uses 4 ovals at Glenelg Oval, Camden, Immanuel College and Bowker Street Oval

Founded in 1907, the club is planning centenary celebrations for the 2007/08 season[1].

Glenelg has won 'A' Grade premierships in the Two-Day version of the game in:

1930/31, 1947/48, 1951/52, 1953/54, 1973/74

and has won their One-Day Premierships in:

1989/90, 1996/97, 2004/05

The Club has hosted and nurtured some very notable local, interstate and international players in the past, including two Australian Test Cricket captains, brothers Ian and Greg Chappell.

Between 1987 and 2004 many players came from interstate to play for Glenelg because of it's close proximity to the former Australian Cricket Academy in Henley Beach.
