Glenn Sutton

Glenn Sutton is a country music songwriter and producer. He was born in Hodge, Louisiana in 1937. One of the two chief architects of the countrypolitan sound (the other being Sutton's frequent songwriting partner Billy Sherrill), he is possibly best known for his association with Lynn Anderson to whom he was married from 1968 - 1977, and whose most memorable records he produced, including her hit "(I Never Promised You a) Rose Garden", which topped the U.S. country charts and made the pop top ten in 1970. As a songwriter, his material has been recorded by Anderson, Jerry Lee Lewis, David Houston and Tammy Wynette.

He was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999.
