Gonabad

Gonabad or (Gulnabad) (گناباد in Persian), not to be confused with Gonbad-e Qabus, is a city in the province of Razavi Khorasan, Iran.
It is mostly well-known because of Gonabadi Dervishes and for its kareez or qanats . It is also one of the most important producers of saffron in the country. The main cities are Bajestan, Kakhk, Beedoukht, and the main villages are Zeebad (Zeabad), Kalat, Seno, Belond, and Desfan. The famous ancient war of 12 rokh had happened between Iran and Turan (west China) in this city on the castle of Zeebad.
