HKS, Inc. is an international architecture firm headquartered in Dallas, Texas (USA). It was founded in 1939 by Harwood K. Smith, a native of Chicago and graduate of Texas A&M University.

The firm now employs over 1,200 people, making it one of the largest architectural firms in the United States. HKS currently operates offices in Atlanta, Denver, Fort Worth, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Miami, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Orange County, Orlando, Palo Alto, Phoenix, Richmond, Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Tampa and Washington, D.C..

In 2002, HKS expanded its international presence by opening HKS Arquitectos in Mexico City to serve its Latin American clients. It also formed an alliance with Ryder Architecture of the United Kingdom. RyderHKS is based in London and focuses on healthcare architecture in the United Kingdom and Europe.

In 2006, HKS acquired the Stein-Cox Group and Trinity Design to have presences in Phoenix, Arizona and Detroit, Michigan, respectively.

In 2007, HKS expanded their hospitality architectural design services and also acquired the hospitality design firm Hill Glazier Architects located in Palo Alto.

HKS has completed services on structures valued in excess of $39 billion, with more than $18.3 billion of construction currently underway. HKS completes more than 85% of its services as design architect.

In addition to architectural design, HKS offers engineering and interior design services. The firm has recently been focusing on sustainable design and has 12 million square feet of sustainable space completed or in progress.

HKS' advanced technology group offers an exclusive technology, ARCHengine, a technology developed by the direction of the HKS principals for uniquely communicating designs to clients through the use of self exploration 3D visual environments. This exclusive design tool and 3D communication service is offered through the HKS in-house Visualization Studio.
