"Hail Mary" is a single by Tupac Shakur featuring The Outlawz, taken from the album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory. It was written and recorded in only 30 minutes and is considered by many to be a classic. The bells and dark sounds were typical features for Shakur's music during his "Makaveli" period. Some remark that this song contains his deepest verses and proved his ability to write powerful lyrics. The song peaked at #43 on the UK Singles chart. "Hail Mary" also appeared on Shakur's Greatest Hits in 1998. In all it has been on a total of 5 2Pac CDs (2Pac's Greatest Hits, 7 Day Theory, Best of 2Pac, Pt. 1: Thug, Nu-Mixx Vol. 1, Nu-Mixx Vol. 2.
The video depicts Tupac rising from the grave to kill three young men, presumably responsible for his death. The deaths are made to look like accidents. The final scene of the video shows two grave diggers struggling to pronounce the name on Tupac's shattered tombstone: Makaveli.
- A remix of the song was also featured on the album Nu-Mixx Klazzics in 2003.
- The song was also recreated by Eminem, 50 Cent, and Busta Rhymes, called Hail Mary 2003, which is a diss track to Ja Rule and Irv Gotti following the fall of Irv Gotti and Murder Inc. Records.
- Recently it was remixed in a rock version on Nu-Mixx Klazzics Vol. 2 in 2007. It featured the Outlawz and Kurupt.
- Just Cause, Chucky Styles, and Gillies did a track together under the same name using the same instrumental but did different verses. It was featured on an underground mixtape called "White Boyz On Wax Vol. 1"
