Haya (OluHaya, Swahili:Kihaya) is a Niger-Congo language spoken by the Haya people of Tanzania, to the south and southwest of Lake Victoria. In 1991, the population of Haya speakers was estimated at 1,200,000 people [1].

The Haya language can be heard in the film Return of the Jedi (1983), from the Star Wars series. The character Nien Nunb, of the fictional Sullustan species, was voiced by a Kenyan named Kipsang Rotich in his native tongue.
