Heavens is an independent rock band featuring Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio and Josiah Steinbrick. The duo signed to Epitaph Records and released their debut album, Patent Pending, on September 12, 2006.

The band has been compared to artists such as Brian Eno and Wire, while Skiba's vocals in this project are similar to that of Paul Banks of Interpol and Ian Curtis of Joy Division.

They spent the 2006 fall season playing the UK and select dates across the US with Darker My Love.

A limited vinyl pressing (950 hand numbered copies) of "Patent Pending" is now available through their Myspace page. As of now it will be only available online directly from the group.
