Bursting Out (1978) |
Heavy Horses is an album released by Jethro Tull on April 10, 1978 (see 1978 in music). It is one of the last albums which saw the acoustic, Celtic-rock flavor of much of Jethro Tull's (then) middle-era music, before becoming synthesizer heavy. Together with Songs from the Wood and Stormwatch it represents the realisation of an ideal - rock songs that cover previously untouched subject matters; here ecological and English mystical concerns. The album continued the folk sound of Songs from the Wood but abandons much of the folk lyrical content in exchange for a more realist perspective on the changing world. It was highly acclaimed by some music critics, especially in live performance.
