The Hindi Wikipedia (Hindi: विकिपीडिया wikipīḍiyā) is the Hindi language edition of Wikipedia, run by the Wikimedia Foundation. Started in July 2003, the Hindi Wikipedia currently has around 7500 legitimate content articles and 1000 registered editors.[1] It was created primarily to cater to the needs of Hindi speaking people, especially from India. As the Hindi Wikipedia uses Indic script (Devanagari), it requires support for complex text rendering.

  • On July 11, 2003 Wikipedia in Hindi is created.
  • On March 14, 2007 the Hindi Wikipedia completes 10,000 articles.
