Hisashi (外村 尚, Tonomura Hisashi; born February 2, 1972 in Hirosaki, Aomori) is the lead guitarist for the popular Japanese rock band GLAY. Together with his bandmate Jiro, the two of them are most well known for their visual support in manga-like costumes. However in recent years the pair have toned down their image, wearing more casual clothing and hairstyles.

  • Hisashi was a good boy in school and had good results, planning on going to college after high school.
  • Before GLAY became famous, Hisashi used to work in a game centre and convenience store, meeting with the rest of the band to perform in live houses in the night.
  • He used to be in a band named Ari (蟻) but they broke up before he joined GLAY.
  • He was reluctant to join GLAY, thinking that they were just a copy band of BOOWY, but joined after much persuasion from the Takuro, the leader of GLAY.
  • His father, a surgeon, passed away when he was in high school and Hisashi had a fight with him before he collapsed.
  • Teru and Hisashi are best friends, but Jiro and Hisashi are rumoured to not get along well with each other.
