Hockeyville

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hockeyville is a contest and television program developed by the CBC and sponsored by Kraft Canada in which communities across Canada compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey.

The contest revolves around a central theme of community spirit. For winning the contest, Home Depot donates $50,000 (Cdn) for infrastructure funding to a local hockey arena or similar project, CCM/Reebok donates $10,000 to a local minor hockey league for equipment, and the National Hockey League agrees to stage a pre-season exhibition game the following September.

The show features host Cameron Bancroft and co-hosts Mark Day and Marc Hickox. It is directed by Don Spence.
