Holly Black

Holly Black (born 10th November 1971) is the New York Times bestselling author of The Spiderwick Chronicles series of children's fantasy books (illustrated by Tony DiTerlizzi), Valiant : A Modern Tale of Faerie, and Tithe : A Modern Faerie Tale. She graduated with a B.A. in English from The College of New Jersey in 1994. She considered becoming a librarian as a back-up career, but writing drew her away. She lives in a house over one hundred years old in Amherst, Massachusetts. Her husband, Theo Black, is an accomplished illustrator and web designer.
On February 4th, 2006 Holly finished Ironside, the sequel to Tithe : A Modern Faerie Tale. It will be published on May 8, 2007. She maintains a website and posts regular updates on LiveJournal.
To date all of Holly's books have been optioned to be made into movies.
