Home Improvement (sometimes called Home Improvement: Power Tool Pursuit) is an action/platforming video game for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System based on the hit sitcom Home Improvement. It was criticized for its unrealistic setting as well as lacking the humor that made the show great.[citation needed]
You play as Tim "The Toolman" Taylor as you try to find some Binford power tools that have gone missing from the set of Tool Time.
The game plays like many other action/platform games of the time that were based on popular television shows or movies (like Virgin's The Lion King, which was also released in 1994.)
Your weapons include modified tools such a nail gun, a blowtorch (used as a flamethrower), and a chainsaw which inexplicably hurls energy waves. These weapons are used to fight dinosaurs, acid-spewing mummies, robot sentries, and other such enemies from the television show.
The game is broken down into 4 worlds of 4 levels, each world containing a boss level.
- The game's instruction manual features a splash page that proclaims "Real men don't need instructions" as its sole content.
