Blackburn Rovers vs Tottenham: With his side 1-0 down, Ghaly stormed into the penalty area and went down under a challenge from Tugay, winning the penalty from which Jermain Defoe scored to earn Tottenham a point. In what was bad-tempered match, Ghaly was sent off by referee Phil Dowd late on for leaning with his elbow in an aerial challenge with Michael Gray. In the ensuing altercation his manager Martin Jol appeared to have been red carded for arguing with the referee, but later clarification proved this to be untrue.

In the match between Portsmouth F.C. and Tottenham he had four teeth knocked out by Noe Pamarot, but finished the first half.[1]

On the 11th March 2007, he scored only his second goal for Tottenham in a 3-3 draw with Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter final at Stamford Bridge.
